Our Story
Ever since 2010, Cupcakes by Paolo has been whipping up cupcakes on a bustling road in West Footscray. But it seems so much longer than that, as Paolo has enjoyed the presence of cupcakes since his early 20s in the Philippines. After tiresome hours of work, he remembers the evenings when the heavenly aroma of cupcakes, from grandma's kitchen, welcomes him home.

The sight of her, hunched-over, stirring the batter by hand, warms his heart. The sweat droplets roll down her droopy cheeks as she beats the eggs.
As he takes a bite of the cupcake, served on her favourite teal china plate, his mind becomes clearer.
It's this memory of her, and the blessing of joy from her cupcakes, that he strives to re-create for you. We're all about making sure you savour your well-deserved cupcake, and just enjoy life one bite at a time.
(Or gobble it all down in a mouthful! We know they're irresistible, so we won't judge.)
We know we can use assembly lines and preservatives with names we can’t pronounce, like the other cupcake stores.
But no, never. We only use fresh eggs cracked by hand, and frost each cupcake one by one.
This means that our cupcakes can't be left on the shelves for more than a day. It also means sleepless nights when there's 9 wedding cakes to deliver in a week.
But it is this ingredient, called love, that we want you to taste.
